Objective: To renovate my own display cabinet with inspiration from paintmewhite.com
Result: As pictured.
Cabinet stripped down, backboard taken off. Inserts on doors and side pieces taken out and replaced with mouse and snake proof wire.
New backboard put in with country feel.
All wood and wire painted with Annie Sloane pure white chalk paint.
New wood pelmet put on top of cabinet for character.
New ceramic door knobs from Anthropologie USA.
I left the shelving as it was – ply – in all its glory with splits and cracks. I felt it had character and its own story to tell and loved that about it.
I was so happy with the finished product. Finally a goal that I achieved pretty much as I imagined.
It really turned out beautiful. One of these days, I may get my DIY project going…but not yet. 😀
