Southport Pier in Queensland originally was a beautiful wooden pier but that was way before my time. Finally when I discovered it, it had been renovated into the lovely charming cement structure we see before us. I guess we have to be practical and the new pier will outlast the old one by many a year but I mourn the texture and grain and charm of the wooden structure. I will forever be on the look out for the wooden kind and when I find it I will photograph it thoroughly and cherish the memories. My only problem is I don’t think I can stop at one ….. Yes fetish it is!
Pier fetish is good. I have a rust fetish, which is less nice… (Meaning, of course, that I keep on taking photos of rusty things.) But I’m very fond of anywhere where there’s water, so a pier is nice.

Nice shots. I especially liked the ones wioth the boats. Love the long shutter speed – it always looks great on water.

Thanks CG. These two were the last shots of the night. In the dark I was approximating the timing and the view as it was pretty dark so was very pleased with the end results when I got home and looked on my computer. Yes I love the longer shutter speed on the water as well. Cheers.
