Challenge Number 1 – cable.
On the Gold Coast border between Queensland and NSW is a lookout overlooking the Pacific Ocean called Point Danger.
Following the trend of some of Europes top cities, the love lock has shown its face on the coast in this area. This solitary love lock declaring love between Angelique and Alex, forever and always… was an interesting subject between man made items – the lock and the cable juxtaposed against the best of what nature has to offer.
I decided on black and white to highlight the metal element. If I had left it in colour the beautiful sea would have distracted the eye away from the subject at hand.
So this was my take on the Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge – a tough cookie to crack this week!
Twist Challenge..Love the idea of the Lock. Cable and Ocean..another great vision Karen..

Is that a love lock? Oh! It fits its surroundings well though.

Yes European style in Australia…makes me think of Paris with all their love locks!

Paris, absolutely. It’s funny that other cities imitate this peculiarity, including Prague, my capital city.

I’m a bit of a romantic and wherever there is romance I guess there will be love locks. I wonder where it started and why,
but I really like the idea 🙂

I like the idea and great shot; but somehow it looks not real to me. Can you help me?

Hi Erwin re shot ? Not real from a finish point of view or the scene itself? I “finished” the photo in photomatix with monochrome. The shot itself is real. On the lookout there are wooden balustrades with wire cable woven through and someone had put a lock on there. Its taken low with an upward angle. Hope this helps. Thanks for your interest 🙂

Thank you for your explanation. I thought it was not real because it was a bit twisted (not 90°) to the wire. I have never seen this kind of “love lock” and find it’s a good idea. This someone is Angelique and Alex (printed in the lock) and I hope they know that her love lock goes now around the world.

What a great sentiment – Yes wouldn’t that be nice if they did know. Maybe one day the photo may come back in some way to find them.
