This week’s Monochrome Madness challenge took me back to Brunswick Heads which I posted on last weekend. I had two shots of bridges, one a footbridge and the other a road bridge, that I thought would be good in black and white.
This road bridge takes me back to my childhood just hearing the sounds of the boards moving up and down as the car drove over them. It may sound horrifying to some but it is a comforting sound to me as I come from the country and most of our bridges were old wood bridges. I know practically cement lasts longer and is more cost effective but my heart sores when I see an old wooden bridge or pier for that matter. Nostalgia is a wonderful thing!
Monochrome Madness happens every Wednesday. If you are interested in participating follow my link above to Leanne Cole’s blog. Tomorrow you will also be able to see other entries into this weeks challenge.

Just reading about the sounds the bridge makes brought them to life for me. I must admit that I love the sounds made when a car goes over a wooden bridge.

Its a great sounds isn’t it, although these days if you hear that sound, its conjures up the fear that something is loose! But not to me.

Thanks Sonya, me too, the texture of the wood and the bolts caught my eye with the lowering sun shining across the road.
