This weeks challenge asks us to find texture:
“This week, share a texture found in an unexpected place. It could be made of natural materials, as in these images, or with man-made objects.
This is a great opportunity to look at the world in a slightly different way — along with looking at things from new angles, zooming very far out or very far in are both great ways to create texture and pattern in photos.”
On looking through my archives I came across this photo of a balcony from Ravello, in the mountainous area of the Amalfi Coast, in all its glorious texture with peeling paint, rough walls, louvered shutters and rusty wrought iron.
Super..

Great photo Karen. Good timing to take the photo before all the yellow paint is gone. 🙂

Thanks Erwin, yes without the peeling yellow paint it wouldn’t have been at all the same. I planned it that way hehe 🙂

Really like this one…what is it about peeling paint and deserted buildings that is so compelling..I have lots of photos. Perhaps imagining the lives of people who lived there?

thanks MM, it tells a story of what has been I think and I’m sure if it were human it would say don’t take my picture, this is not the real me!

Wonderful photo that conjures up memories of my own trip up/down the Amalfi coast – heaven on earth. Love this photo for its textures, its background, and for its yellow paint ( I do so love yellow!)
