On Wednesday the wind was “blowing the dogs off the chain” and when I saw the waves I had to take a picture. Its a beautiful place and with the wind blowing the waves back it was an unusual site.

The photos are lovely and slightly threatening. I especially like the portrait one where the clouds are visible too.

Really struck by how the colours of the sky have melted into those of the water. A cool and calming picture. I also like the last portrait snap — the layering of the rocks with the cityscape behind really pulls it all together. Great art.

Gorgeous, Kaz. The movement and strength of the waves is captured beautifully. I really like the one looing back to the cityscape, reminds me of a sci fi cover scene a bit. There cold be anything over there!

Yes it is a bit like that. I’m putting it in B&W next week which will give it a more Sci Fi look maybe. I’ll be interested in your thoughts then.

I have to admit that I was amazed that the surfers were braving the rocks to get out onto the waves. Beautiful shots of the beach.
We stayed at Currumbin in January and actually loved it a lot. Shame the room had no aircon though. 😦

I know there were a few out there in the crazy waves! No air con in January, I cant believe any self respecting rental would not have AC. Crazy isn’t it. You poor cooked things!! You would have to stay outside at the beach all the time to keep cool or the air con at the surf club for some respite 🙂

Beautiful water shots, Karen (like I’ve said before, you do wonderful things with water!). But I really love the last image – the shape of the receding waves on the beach and the leading lines they create, the dynamic sky, the almost-surreal looking cityscape, and the punch of those glorious rocks – just outstanding composition. Definitely frameworthy!
