One Word Challenge: Carmine

car•mine (ˈkɑr mɪn, -maɪn)  n.

1. a crimson or purplish red colour.
2. a crimson pigment obtained from cochineal.
By way of this challenge I am learning new colours, that’s for sure.  This week Jennifer Wells’ One Word Challenge gives us carmine.  Not being a red sort of person it took me a bit of time to find some ‘red’ and of course it was from the “Cooly Rocks On” weekend on the Gold Coast where everything 50s and 60s meets and has a fun week.
Here I found a variety of Carmine in different shapes and forms.  I have created a carmine montage:

  1. Nice. I love car shows and have oodles of photos on my hardrive of old cars.
Love the mix of reds (oops Carmine) however I think the first photo of the car is my fave. 🙂

  2. Yep, first one just seems to have that purple undertone to the red. Great photos, as usual, Karen.

  4. I remember the post on the car show, Karen, and all the wonderful photos 🙂 It’s fun to see a single-color gallery though! Such great composition in all, and I do love the shininess of the first photo – just makes the car jump off the page!

  6. Fabulous montage; all that shiny metal and paint makes for a great visual. Love Carissa at the top left!
