One Word Challenge: Navy

This week the colour is Navy and its a favourite of mine, not only wearing it but painted in my house, I love it.  To find something Navy to put into a picture though has been difficult. Two pictures that always comes to mind when I think Navy are the gondolas of Venice, especially late afternoon when they are “parked” and tied up at their moorings to rest until the next busy day.  Sleek black bottoms with navy canopies, they are an impressive sight in this always impressive city.   The quality of the photos is not great as I was using a low pixel camera but I’d like to think the impression was still captured.

A little further northwest hales the next photo from London with all its gorgeous houses.  This one in particular took my fancy with its lovely navy door, French inspired blue No 32, interesting navy and white tiles and a blue bicycle with basket. Obviously another fan of Navy.

Such a picture! DSC03083

  5. I love Venice too and I love your gondolas with the Basilica of Santa Maria Della Sante ( I believe) in the background. The london door is beautiful and it reminded me of all the Georgian doorways in Dublin City.
