Bliss.
Today’s assignment asks us to photograph our bliss. I do not have children or a significant other that might be my bliss so I thought what is mine. Then I realised. How obvious!
At this time I am on my way home to Orange with my sister. She has just had an operation and I am escorting her back home. She is doing well. I only manage to get home maybe once a year if I am lucky and my sister, her husband and dog visit me at least once a year so I guess on average we see each other at least twice a year , maybe more.
My sister’s dog is Buffy. Buffy is 14 years old. I love her unconditionally. She is my Bliss! I first met her a very long time ago as a small white fluff ball and I was smitten. We love each other very much. Even though I don’t see her often we celebrate each visit. First I hear the feet and nails hurriedly clicking on the floorboards then I have to sit on the floor whilst she excitedly bites my chin and licks my face in welcome. It’s the best feeling and I can’t wait for those moments. After this I am at her beck and call. She has me wound around her little paw and I will do anything for her.
I have a special way I hold her, which when she was young was fine as she wasn’t too heavy, now though as I get older as well its hard managing to keep her held where she likes which is up around my neck, held high otherwise she fidgets until I put her back up. She knows I am the only one that does this so it’s our special time.
Funnily enough my favourite photo of Buffy and myself was taken by my sister Marie and it is my most cherished photo of us together.
So I introduce Buffy my niece and the love of my life!
Hands down, this is the best response ever. For me, at least, because I’m not very fond of children and though I love my husband, I wouldn’t quite call it a bliss. Maybe my moments of bliss are those that I spend with my cat. So, I connect with your interpretation of the prompt completely!

As I am a dog lover, this would spell bliss for me too, the black and white photo of you and Buffy is so precious and very touching. I love the little story you have shared with us about the special way you hold her – something she does only with you.
