Just 45 minutes from Adelaide and you are on the Fleurieu Peninsula. It extends south down to
Cape Jervis, across to the mouth of the Murray and back up to Adelaide. Such a diverse area that has lovely beaches for swimming, diving and surfing as well as wine regions. What more could you want.
After leaving McLaren Vale we headed down the Main South Road. Along the way we saw beautiful green rolling hills that were only stopped by the sea, rugged cliff faces and wide expanses of beach. Truly a remarkable wild landscape. A stop of at Aldinga Beach to photograph the old jetty was in order…
On one side we had large expanses of cliffs and beaches and on the other rolling hills and farmland. Such a mixture of landscapes it was hard to know which way to turn my head.
I highly recommend a drive down the Fleurieu it is Australia at its most picturesque! Next stop Victor Harbour.
Stunning – You are irresistible – The Fleurieu Peninsula’s green hills are bounded by clifftops, beaches, coves and the winding Murray River. The river pans out and forms a beautiful, calm expanse of water at Goolwa.

Wow Karen, stunning images. It’s one of my favourite parts of the country (especially the red wines 😉) but I’ve never seen it like this. I LOVE the shot taken through the fence, with the flowers in the foreground and the jetty framed in the background. They’re all gorgeous.
