Following on from last week where I enhanced the flower photo, this week sees it with a Photoshop filter which is one of my favourites – oil painting – to change it into a little more abstract photo to give it some texture. Just a simple procedure which requires little effort but gives it a different look relatively easily. For those not familiar with this Photoshop filter, you can change the bristle size and shape and strength to suit yourself.
I myself quite like the rough texture. It has the impression of being printed on patterned paper.
and just to recap on last week
Please go to Robyn’s blog to find other One Four challenges or put that in your tag line to search for other entries.
I have seen a couple of people play with the oil painting filter with really nice results, I might have to give it a try myself for next week maybe 🙂
I like the crop on this, brings the flower into more prominence, needs a smidge more off the right to balance it tho (yes im a bit OCD about these things!)

I think a bold coloured subject like this flower looks great with a canvas or rough paper texture 🙂

I like the crop of the image this week, it makes the flower really stand on it’s own. And the texture is nice, I love texture added to flowers especially, it makes them feel timeless. Great edits.

Oh Kaz, this looks beautiful. I really like the texture, it is as if you have printed the image on a canvas. And the crop is effective too. Well done! Chris

Gee thanks Chris, I didn’t mind it myself. The oil painting filter is a favourite of mine at times… not sure what I will do next time though 🙂
