This is the last week of the current challenge and its difficult to come up with something different and creative.
However I have decided to go black and white on this photo and see how it turns out. I originally changed the photo from colour to black and white in Lightroom then decided to see what happened when I used Photomatix. I opened in this program and tone mapped it with “smooth 2” to bring out some more detail. I then put it back in Lightroom to crop some more and to shade out the background with a push down in black and shadows.
Not bad I thought but I still myself liked the dramatically cropped image the best, how about you?
Here are the previous weeks photo

Merry Christmas everyone!
Lovely photos. It must be quite a difficult challenge to come up with something new each week. Definitely week 3 for me too. It’s very cool.

Thanks Desley, I like week 3 best too. It was my first time this month doing the One Four Challenge and you can do a crop, a colour change and B&W then what…. then next time you do another photo you cant really do the same type of thing so seemingly will get harder.
Have a wonderful Christmas Desley, all the best 🙂

I can’t vote as I like the last two and can’t decide between them. I think changing it black and white was a good move and it came out well. It puts more emphasis on the centre of the flower which has a lovely texture.

The dramatic crop and the black/white one are both so lovely, but so different–I agree, hard to choose between them!

Thanks Sabine for your feedback, yes I like the crop best then the B&W over the others. I think the blurry petals were a distraction. 🙂

How did I miss week 3??? It is gorgeous. And, week 4 is very dramatic and pure. I do love seeing the black and white version but that deep crop, that is so special! Holiday wishes to you Kaz, enjoy the New Year too!
