One Word Photo Challenge: Hot

Hot – hard to imagine now but our summer was very, very hot.  I was so glad when the cool breezes came and welcomed winter, which is almost here.

When its hot everyone hits the beaches to cool down, catch a wave and soak up the sometimes cool breezes that waft through from the west.

I often wonder what other people do that do not have that beach to head to, to dip their toes in the coolness or lift their faces to the breeze….

hot summer days.....

  1. What wonderful textures in the photograph. I love it.

  2. I guess if you live in the mountains it is cooler. There might be a river or a pond around and more trees to give some shades. I love your summer photo.

  3. Incredible clouds and such wonderful tones and contrast, Kaz! So hard to believe you’re coming into winter and I’m coming into summer (I have to admit, I like the cooler weather much better).

  6. Beautiful Kaz – I never think to do a summer shot in B&W! Do you take them in B&W or change it during processing? I’m already looking for the warmer weather up north. It’s been quite cool down here – not to meantion wet and windy 😐

  7. I like the composition: the levels let me dive into the scene. Via the rocks, over the beach, water and city into the clouds and sun. It invites me to take my (non-existing) surf board to catch a wave. Black and white can be so exciting. Hot image! Reinhold

    • Thanks Cybele – I just caught this scene as the sun was on the downward journey but it was still warm outside so everyone was wanting to catch that last wave and another wanting a sunset photograph… people were still busy getting everything they could out of those last rays 🙂
