I have to say northern New South Wales has such a diverse landscape. From the picturesque sea to rural paddocks and rainforests, we have it all.
On Sunday we went on an adventure to Protestor falls, so named from protests in that area in the late 1970s because of logging. I knew the falls were a quite long vertical drop but what I didn’t count on was the gorgeous lush moss strewn rocks and logs in the rainforest and the water from the falls cascading in small waterfalls along the length of the creek.
It was only a short walk up from the car park, a little slippery in spots but pretty good really. After a short hike up you come to the bottom of the falls. Although I thought the falls were impressive it was on the walk back down with tripod attached that I kept stopping to take photos of the smaller waterfalls and the rocks that caught my eye. Definitely a must see and we were so pleased we went there.
Wonderful photographs. The Channon is such a picturesque area.

Stunning photographs, Kaz. Did you use a ND filter and tripod to create the milky water effect of the falls? They are really fabulous. Smiles. Reinhold

Thanks so much Reinhold. I didn’t use the ND filter for these as I had low light so could afford a second or two without it 🙂

Thanks Claudette, yes I love the mossy rocks too, shame they were too heavy to pop in my bag ……

I’m sure they’d love my place but I wouldn’t do it any ways… although as we were talking in two youngsters were walking out with a rock each!

Love the name – Nightcap National Park! And that rainforest area looks most interesting with those mossy rocks and logs… 🙂
