This week I will be away with Leanne Cole, photographer extraordinaire, freezing out butts off by the looks of it down in Victoria. I have scheduled some posts while I am away.
All of a sudden, the week we choose to go to Apollo Bay is the coldest week so far with the “Antarctic Vortex” descending upon us. Here on the Gold Coast its not so bad but we will get to single figures this week. Down south in NSW it is a lot colder with icy winds and in my hometown of Orange, snow flurries.
I have been busy shopping for jumpers and layers, mittens, warm socks etc to take on our trip. As it is quite warm where I live now we usually don’t need such things so a shopping trip was in order. I can’t imagine wearing it all as it was so hot trying most of the things on, but I know when I get there I wished I had of bought more!
Staying inside today even though it was sunny, it was a bit cool so I decided to bring the sunshine inside and whilst out shopping I bought some yellow flowers (are they daisies???). Yesterday I had a nice find of a Mikasa ware vase at a second hand store and I thought it would make a nice photo prop. I had natural light coming in through the window and quite liked the effect. I didn’t use my macro tubes which I probably should have but without it gave a softer effect.
In Photoshop I used a linen filter to give it some texture. I took a few photos and hopefully my Friday Foto will be another one of this lovely flower. Sorry for the repetition, I haven’t been out lately.
As you sit hopefully in a nice warm place reading this think of the two of us out in the elements early mornings and late evenings hoping for a few nice shots. I only hope it doesn’t pour with rain or be too windy for the tripod. I expect there will be plenty of hot chocolates consumed this week and maybe even a few wines!
See you on the flipside!
You did bring the sunshine in ! Love the texture.
