The eternal flame – a flame is considered a symbol of eternal life – An eternal flame at a war memorial (such as the Arc de Triomphe, Paris) symbolises remembrance of the war dead of that nation and the country’s gratitude for the lives sacrificed for their freedom. It can often be seen at the tomb of the unknown solider in any country around the world. It pays tribute to the fallen of war.
It deserves respect and reflection for those young soldiers that gave their, normally, young lives for the freedom of others.
