This past week I have been down the bottom end of Australia, well almost, in Victoria with the lovely Leanne Cole. She graciously took me around some of her wonderful state, going to the Great Ocean Road, Apollo Bay and surrounds. Whilst there we took the road less travelled and meandered our way up a dirt road full of surprises. Our first stop was at the Redwoods – an interesting place just off the road where the light was shining through these very tall trees. It started to rain lightly and I turned around to see the sun still shining through but specks of rain as well. Unfortunately the photo did not pick up the rain mist but did show the suns rays trying to warm us up through the trees. For more Monochrome Madness black and white photography please go to Leannes blog here .
Very nice, I love the sun rays and the shadows on the forest floor.

Thanks Katie we were lucky as it had been overcast most of the morning then the sun came out and it was also sprinkling with rain 🙂

Ahh gorgeous. That scene of sun rays spotlighting within the woods is such a peaceful view. Beautiful Kaz.

I love this picture and how the sun’s rays illuminate the bark of the tree.

Thanks so much WC as I’ve commented to someone else, we were so lucky that it happened as it had been raining and overcast. Looks like sometimes we can be lucky with the weather 🙂

Sshhh, don’t let everyone know. I don’t want people to know I can’t be original.
No problem, there, you would have a similar one to that too, I no doubt. I had to get out of the pj’s, needed food.

Not as good you know but yes I do have one. It was actually harder than it looked to get the right composition. It wasnt all equal and some of the background wasnt right so where you took this and at that angle was pretty well on the money :)….. yes I finally got out of mine too. It was drizzling with rain all day and it was kinda a PJ day 🙂

Thanks Robyn. Leanne and I found the Redwoods along the dirt road leading to Hopetoun Falls. It was just off the road and quite unique. It had been overcast and we were nearly finished and the sun came out between the trees. How lucky can you be sometimes 🙂

Appreciate your compliment Ben. We were lucky to get this on a rainy overcast day. You can be lucky sometimes with the weather and your timing. It doesnt happen that often 🙂
