Take three photos of a subject from three different angles.
A few months ago I was down in Wollongong NSW and we drove out around Lake Illawarra. It was mid afternoon on a somewhat cloudy day. The suns rays were trying their best to shine down through the clouds. I took a shot (or a few actually) from one side at two different angles and then on the other side to see which one was best.
You be the judge, I liked the last one best. Its funny how a few steps either way can make the difference from an okay photo to one that really flows well.

Great pics. I found it difficult to decide which one I liked best … but after a fashion, I think the last one too. I like the cloud detail and its reflection, which gave some lovely textures to the light.

Thanks for your comment WC. I prefer the ones taken on the left hand side of the pier and yes I think its the reflection that helps the last one to the fore. 🙂

Gorgeous Kaz, perfect from any angle but I agree with you the last one has the edge!

Thanks Jane, yes there is something about the angle and position of everything that just seems to make it work better. 🙂

Probably the last one, for the reflection adding to the image!

Tough choice…top right. It makes me want to jump from the pier into the water and just float. 🙂

Glad it made you feel that way. Thanks Heather very much 🙂

Hi Karen, for me it is the 2nd photo, I like how it leads towards the rays, and the log in the foreground.

Definitely the last one does it for me – the lighting is superb and the depth just takes the eyes right into the photo.

All are beautiful. I love the swirls inherent in the last one…..looks like it’s painted with the joyous hand of nature — even though the blacks and greys could be more foreboding.
