Rivers, Lakes & Dams

During the last couple of years I have taken many photos, but the ones I love the most involve water and if I am lucky some sort of structure over it, especially a pier.

Water is such an interesting subject to take pictures of.  It is always moving so your shot can differ at any angle and also different seasons or time of day.  Reflections on mirror surfaces is a photographer’s dream to catch that extra interest to make your photograph zing.

Bridges and piers always make for a great subject, the older and more worn the better I think; an unusual bridge or ancient one even more so.

Below is a cluster of water shots taken of rivers, dams and lakes on my journey so far with my camera.  May there be many more to come!

  7. The ultimate “WOW” collection. Each one of these deserves it’s own post. Colors, composition and great places and scenery. All combined in one awesome post. I am impressed, Kaz.

  8. Wow Kaz, these photos are spectacular. I can see why you like photographing water, you’re really good at it. I like every one of these photos, but I think the one that struck me the very most was toward the middle: an island of trees, a moored boat, and the shoreline underwater rocks–all in one photo, and with dazzling colors.

  9. I’m boggled by the beauty, but wanted to pick my favorite, to point out one that I thought really shone brighter than the others. So I went back and carefully looked at each one. And I cannot. They are all so lovely, and so special, each one, that I cannot say “This one.” Thank you for sharing these.
