Extraordinary | Daily Post Weekly Challenge

extraordinary

This week the challenge is extraordinary and as happens quite often just before a challenge I seem to post a picture that I feel is most apt for it, therefore repeating myself.

Last Sunday I posted about the Swell Festival at Currumbin Beach that happens every year. It is a wonderful eclectic collection of sculptures which runs for a week and everyone freely can wander between each exhibit on the beach.

Although there were a few highlights, one in particular stood out to me more than the others. I cannot give credit to the artist as I do not know who it was but how often do you see something as mundane as a clothes line (Hills Hoist here in Australia) on a beach. Not what I was expecting and quite surreal if you didnt know there was an exhibit on to keep your mind in check. I thought it extraordinary.

  2. The good old Hills, everyday in a backyard but indeed extraordinary anywhere else.

  7. Wow! About 25 years ago, we were still in the home we raised our kids in, in Iowa. And we had a clothesline like this in our back yard. Not many of our neighbors did. I loved, especially, to hang out sheets to dry. Hung out a lot of my laundry in the spring, summer and fall months. Nothing like it! But, my laundry never looked like this photo…..fabulous photo for this challenge!

  12. I guess you and I both see the “extraordinary” in clotheslines! What a funny coincidence, even though our takes were quite different.
