Clouds | Monochrome Madness 2 – 31

This month’s theme is clouds. A tough one sometimes as its hard to get great contrast with a light sky andkirra beach BW clouds that is interesting enough to catch the eye in black and white.

I think to help this you need to take them near dusk and with a lot of interesting cloud cover and the sunset backlighting the clouds.

Luckily this happened one Friday afternoon after work, I couldn’t wait to get down to the beach.  I loved that the tide had gone out but left a pool of water around some of the rocks.  This gave the added benefit of reflecting the clouds from above.

Just after taking this photograph spots of rain started to come down so I quickly ran to the car.  Moments later it teemed.  If I had of been a few minutes late getting out of work I don’t think I would have taken this shot.  I was very thankful.

For more cloud themed photos in black and white please check out Leanne Cole’s blog at leannecolephotography.com.  Leanne hosts this challenge every week.

  13. Stunning photo. The cloud cover, pool of water and reflection look magnificent. I’m pleased you weren’t late getting out of work and the rain held off just long enough to get the shot.
