I have finally started to sort through my Tasmania photos and Port Arthur was proving difficult as I had so many shots.
One shot I particularly liked was a vignette of a bedroom scene in one of the cottages in the Port Arthur historic site. I loved the texture and pattern of the quilt cover that was exposed by the sun shining through the window, the sheer curtain revealing some of the outside world that was the first view for a number of years of the owner as they woke from sleep and the beautiful old basin and jug.
I didn’t have a tripod so held my breath and luckily there was enough light to get the image without too much blur, if anything a bit of softness probably added to the effect I wanted.

Ha ha, yes, that really is the sort quilt granny had 🙂

Excellent composition and the B&W with it’s contrast and textures creates a nostalgic and dreamy finish.

Thanks Reinhold. I loved the way the light highlighted the textures. It came out better than i thought.

I remember looking at your Tasmania post and scrolling throught all the gorgeous color shots, some black and whites and stopping at this one, mesmerized! So glad you posted again. My head just goes to poetry with it!

Thanks so much Lillian. It makes me think about waking up in that time in that place. Would love to know if you composed any verse for this photo. If like to see what it evoked for you. Thanks again 😊
